If you want to reset Linksys AP WAP54G and If you do not use window$ and you can not authenticate for web-based setup,…. then read this.
You perhaps have already power on the AP, connect the AP directly to your computer using straight ethernet cable, push the reset button for 10 sec, using browser to open 192.168.1.245. Then, after reading the manual you enter “admin” for user and “admin” for password. But what have you got? You can not enter, it keeps looping for authentication… So what has gone wrong?
Actually you got the manual wrong. For WAP54G type, the default for user is NIL/empty. So instead of inserting “admin”, you should leave it empty and goes straight to the password box and enter “admin”. That should do the trick.
